Effects of soil , aeroponic and Nutrient film Technique Culture Systems on Plant Growth and Flowering of Chrysanthemum

Abstract
This study was carried out to investigate the effects of soil, aeroponics and nutrient film technique (NFT) on growth and lowering of Dendranthema grandiflora cv. Baekgwang under structure. Root zone temperature at mid-March was 19.4, 18.8 and 16.5¡É in NFT, aeroponics and soil bed culture, respectively. A variation of root zone temperature wits greatest in aeroponics. Stem length at 70 days after transplanting was 65.8§¯, 57.0§¯ and 37.7§¯ in NFT, aeroponics and soil bed culture, respectively. Number of leaves, leaf area, and fresh weight of the plants were significantly higher in NFT and aeroponics than in soil bed culture. The quality of cut flower produced in NFT were superior than aeroponics and soil bed culture due to short stem length and small dower size, respectively. Days to flowering was shortened by 43 days and 36 days, and vase life of the cut flowers was extended by 13 days and 10 days in NFT and aeroponics, respectively as compared to soil bed culture.
